The old Warner Bros cartoons were Tony’s first writing inspiration. After enjoying a Sunday morning full of Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner, he’d run to his room and draw/write his own comic strips. As he blossomed into pimplehood, he went full-nerd and began writing Dungeons and Dragons modules for his role-playing group. He continued writing throughout middle school, and in 1985, at the age of 14, he won a prestigious national writing contest. He has since compiled an impressive cache of short stories and poetry, and he has published articles on several magazines and blogs over the years. The Big Wig is his first full-length novel.
An avid fitness buff, outdoorsman and adventure-seeker, Tony combines his hobbies into backcountry excursions for long hours of hiking, mountain biking, camping, and stargazing. In 2010, he raced in the Tour Divide, a 2,745 mile self supported mountain bike race starting in Canada and ending at the U.S.-Mexican border. An account of his training experience was published in The Cordillera Volume 1.
Tony lives near Houston, TX with his wife, daughter, and four furry dependents.
